Jonathan Dayton, Youngest Signatory of our Constitution |
- Ralfe Daiton (Ralph Dayton ...de Deighton, de Dyghton): Paternal Lineage is traced back to Sir Walter de Dyghton, Crusader/Knights
Templar. He and his family emigrated
from England to Boston in 1632. A Puritan, he was a Founding Father of New Haven, Connecticut, as Signatory of The
Original Compact Of Civil Combination which was designed within the construct of Biblical Law (The Ten Commandments and
The Golden Rule) and serves forever as the Constitutional foundation of the United States of America (Article VII:
"...the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven" [1,787 years after the purported birth of Christ]).
He, later, moved to Southampton and founded Easthampton. His family was firmly established in Boston, New
Haven, Southampton, Easthampton, and Newport, Rhode Island.
- General Michael Dayton
(1722-1776), Great Great Grandson of Ralfe Daiton, Michael died during the Revolutionary War having born 13 children. Maternal
Lineage of this son of Samuel Dayton, by his mother Elizabeth Todd, is officially traced to Paris [according to
Clovis], Clovis, Pippin, Charlemagne, King Charles the Great of
France and first Emperor of
the Holy Roman Empire, Queen Judith of France, daughter of Charlemagne and first Queen of France, a
fine and diplomatic Queen [who established the high standard of haute couture], the political philosophy of whom is the best of France and beautifully embodied by the Statue of Liberty, the first eight Kings of England, including the first
two Kings Charles I and II, Queen Matilda, rightful heir to the throne, and
her husband, the Duke of Normandy William the Conqueror, King Henri I of France and England and his beloved wife, Eleanor of Aquitane, their eldest son, Richarde, C'ouer de Lion [Richard
the Lion-Hearted], and several other European Kings
and Queens. Jane Smith, President of News America, is a descendant of Michael's eldest son, Charles.
- Robert Daiton (Robert Dayton ...de Deighton, de Dyghton), brother
and partner of Ralfe Daiton.
- General Elias Dayton (1737-1807), Great Grandson of Ralfe's brother,
Robert, took an active and patriotic role in the measures which led to the Declaration of Independence and commanded
the building of Fort Dayton in the Mohawk Valley in 1776. In 1779 he
was chosen to be a member of Congress and declined, yet, was a delegate in 1787-88. For several years, he served
as a member of the New Jersey Legislature. He would have been appointed to the United States Constitutional Convention
in 1787, yet, declined in favor of his son, Jonathan.
- Captain Jonathan Dayton (1760-1824) in the Militia (9th Company 2nd
Regiment Alarm), called upon during an attack by the British in New Haven, July 1779. Youngest Signatory of the
Constitution of the United States of America, Representative, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and United States
Senator. Husband of Mary Yale.
- Admiral Oliver Hazard Perry, famed for the
Battle of Lake Erie duing the War of 1812, proclaiming "We have met the enemy and they are ours!" Britain
had determined to reclaim America as it's own. America was at the cusp of losing the war against Britain,
until Admiral Perry led us to victory, saving the United States of America ...for all time!
